Mandate
The Mandate of the Council:
- to represent primarily the point of view of the fish processing industry of all issues that affect it, including the provision of an effective representation to appropriate Ministers, federal government departments, committees, etc., to assure the best possible policy environment.
- To provide ser vices and programs designed to improve the performance of the fish processing industry.
- Key activities of the Council involve fisheries management issues; market access/trade policy; inspection/technical issues; environmental/ocean use issues; international fisheries; industry development; communications.
