FCC welcomes two BC companies as new members
OTTAWA, ON: The Fisheries Council of Canada (FCC) is pleased to welcome Independent Seafood Canada Corporation and Grand Hale Marine Products as new members. This broadens FCC membership along the coast of British Columbia and will provide even more value to Western members. Independent Seafood Canada owns the factory trawlers F/V “Raw Spirit”, and the newly-purchased F/V “Sunderoey”. The company harvests, processes, and sells its own premium quality Pacific Hake, Arrowtooth Flounder and Pacific Rockfish.
Grand Hale Marine Products is a Richmond based family-owned seafood supplier and processor. Grand Hale offers customers in Canada, the US, Asia and Europe premium quality Wild Pacific Salmon and Caviar, BC Sea Urchin Roe, Herring Roe, BC Spot Prawns, BC Dungeness Crab, and Wild Pacific Halibut.
“There are important and difficult issues facing the fishing industry,” said Theresa Williams, Director, Independent Seafood Canada. “We want to be able to seize future opportunities and be proactive about addressing challenges, and that means the entire sector needs to work together. That is why we have joined FCC.”
